Mike Steffens sworn in as the new mayor of Wolmirstedt
The new mayor was sworn in at the most recent Wolmirstedt City Council meeting on November 27, 2025. Mike Steffens was elected on September 7, 2025. His term of office begins on December 7 and will last seven years. “Together with the citizens of our town and our localities, I would like to develop Wolmirstedt further, make the most of opportunities and shape our region as a home worth living in,” says Mike Steffens, who is very much looking forward to his new, responsible role.
He was presented with the mayor’s chain by the Deputy Chairman of the City Council, Fritz-Georg Meyer, and was also congratulated by many well-wishers.
Wolmirstedt’s incumbent mayor Marlies Cassuhn was also due to be given a ceremonial farewell at the meeting, but was unfortunately unable to attend due to illness. She will be given a proper send-off later.
The Wolmirstedt town council would like to thank Marlies Cassuhn for her dedicated work for the benefit of the town and wishes the new mayor all the best for his forthcoming task!
