Notice Regarding the Saxony-Anhalt State Election on September 6, 2026

Sentence 1: If a person eligible to vote who is registered in the voter registry of an electoral district pursuant to paragraph 2 moves his or her residence, or, if they have multiple residences, their primary residence, within the state of Saxony-Anhalt, and if they register with the municipality of their new residence before the start of the period specified in § 4a, paragraph 2, sentence 1 of the Election Law of the State of Saxony-Anhalt, they shall be entered in the voter registry there only upon application.
Sentence 2: If a person eligible to vote who is registered in the voter registry of an electoral precinct pursuant to paragraph 2 registers within the same municipality for a residence, or—if they have multiple residences—for a primary residence located in another electoral district, they shall remain registered in the voter registry of their previous electoral district at the residence for which they were registered on the record date.
§ 4a, para. 2, sentence 1
(2) Every eligible voter has the right, on the business days from the 20th to the 16th day (August 17–21, 2026) prior to the election, during the general business hours of the competent authority specified in paragraph 1, to inspect the voter registry in order to verify the accuracy and completeness of the personal information recorded for them.
