The town of Wolmirstedt is taking part in the world’s largest cycling campaign “CITY CYCLING” for the first time this year. From 25 August 2025 to 14 September 2025, citizens are called upon to cycle as many kilometers as possible.
City Cycling” is a competition organized by the Climate Alliance, in which the aim is to cycle as many everyday journeys as possible for 21 days. The aim is to promote committed cycling, strong climate protection and a better quality of life in the municipalities.
Anyone who lives, works, is active in a club or attends a school in Wolmirstedt and its districts can take part on behalf of the town. Interested parties can register at https://www.stadtradeln.de/registrieren, where they can join an existing team in the municipality or set up their own team.
The town of Wolmirstedt is hoping for active participation from citizens, who can take part in the cycling campaign as individuals or in groups with neighbors, work colleagues or in any other conceivable constellation. City councillors and other local elected representatives as well as employees of the city administration will also be asked to take part in the “City Cycling” campaign in the next few days.
The CITY CYCLING 2025 campaign is supported by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Digital Affairs of Saxony-Anhalt and the Saxony-Anhalt Bicycle-Friendly Municipalities Working Group. The town of Wolmirstedt is taking part at the same time and in coordination with the district of Börde and other municipalities in the district.
