Construction work on Heinrich-Heine-Straße

Construction work on Fabrikstraße and Heinrich-Heine-Straße is progressing

The construction work on Fabrikstraße/Heinrich-Heine-Straße in Wolmirstedt is progressing rapidly. By the end of May, work on the first construction phase, which covers the entire Fabrikstraße, should be completed. The civil engineering work there has been completed – all the necessary cables have been laid. The road and sidewalk construction is currently underway.

Once Fabrikstraße is finished, the junction with Schwimmbadstraße will immediately follow. It should be completed by the end of June at the latest. At the same time, work has been going on for some time on Heinrich-Heine-Straße, which was also recently closed at the junction with Friedrich-Ebert-Straße.

Further construction phases will follow later: Heinrich-Heine-Straße from Friedrich-Ebert-Straße to Samsweger Straße, the Heinrich-Heine-Straße/Samsweger Straße junction and a section of Lindhorster Weg. The entire construction project is scheduled to last until spring 2027. Due to the harsh winter with snow and ice, the construction work was delayed, but is still well on schedule overall.

The major construction project on Heinrich-Heine-Straße is a joint project. The city of Wolmirstedt is responsible for the road and sidewalk construction as well as the lighting. Other contractors are the WWAZ, which is installing the wastewater pipes, rainwater pipes and drinking water pipes, and the municipal utilities, which are laying the electrical cables and district heating pipes. One third of the municipal part of the construction project is being funded by the federal government and one third by the state, while the city is contributing one third of the costs itself.
