First households in Elbeu and Wolmirstedt connected to the fiber optic network

20.09.2024, Wolmirstedt. Deutsche Glasfaser connected the first households in Elbeu and Wolmirstedt to the new fiber-optic network this week. Thanks to the fast and future-proof fiber optic connection, residents can now surf, make calls and stream at speeds of up to 1,000 megabits per second. Deutsche Glasfaser is expanding the fiber-optic network in Elbeu and Wolmirstedt and, together with the town, is driving forward the digital supply of the towns.

“We are making progress step by step and we are delighted that we have been able to successfully activate the first house connections,” says Denis Rosenkranz, Construction Project Manager at Deutsche Glasfaser. The next step will be to successively build the other house connections in Elbeu and Wolmirstedt. For the connection area east of the railroad line, a railroad crossing is still required before activation, which is planned for the 4th quarter of 2024. Households in this area can only be connected once this has been completed.

Deutsche Glasfaser is building FTTH fiber optic lines (Fiber To The Home) in Elbeu and Wolmirstedt. Here, the company is laying fiber optic directly into the home for full performance. “Nothing will work in the future without fiber optics. As a digital provider for the regions, our goal is to drive forward the nationwide expansion of fiber optics. With the fiber optic expansion in Elbeu and Wolmirstedt, we are now taking an important step towards the digital future “, says René Becker, Project Manager FttH Sales Management at Deutsche Glasfaser.
