Latest News on the New Stadium Construction

The administrative building, track, and artificial turf field are already clearly visible

Construction of the new stadium on the outskirts of Wolmirstedt is progressing well according to schedule. Where just a few weeks ago the untrained eye would have seen nothing but a vacant lot, the structure of the new sports facility is now clearly visible.

Construction of the administrative building began in July. The future playing field is also already clearly visible. Above all, however, work in recent weeks has focused on the drainage of the entire site. The perimeter fencing for the artificial turf field right next to the administrative building has also been installed.

All of the architects and construction companies involved in the project are confident that they will be able to meet the opening date for the new stadium, scheduled for September 4, 2027.

In the future, the “Ohrekicker” and “SV Kali” sports clubs will train at the new stadium near Samsweger Straße, and schools and daycare centers will also use the outdoor sports facility. The construction of this multifunctional sports facility—featuring a full-size playing field, a Type B track, and a service building—represents the largest investment project undertaken by the city of Wolmirstedt since 1990. As things stand, the project will cost around 10.5 million euros. Of this amount, approximately 4.3 million euros will be financed through grants from the state of Saxony-Anhalt.
