After the early general election in February 2025, the town of Wolmirstedt can draw a positive conclusion. “The election went well, there were no major incidents,” sums up Wolmirstedt’s head of elections Nancy Heynemann. Before the polling stations opened, some election advertising posters from various parties were still hanging too close to the polling station in the town hall’s registry office, and some voters had already brought the election notifications for the district council election – and therefore the wrong ones. However, according to Nancy Heynemann, these circumstances did not affect the proper conduct of the election.

There was a record number of postal voters in the city in the 2025 Bundestag election: around 2,400 out of a total of 9,546 eligible voters took advantage of the opportunity to vote by post in advance – more than ever before. Many voters have also already made use of postal voting for the upcoming next election, the Börde district council election on March 16. This election is now being meticulously prepared in Wolmirstedt town hall.

The Wolmirstedt town council would like to thank all the hard-working volunteers who helped to ensure that everything ran smoothly at the ten polling stations in the town and its districts.
