Property tax assessments for 2025

    The city of Wolmirstedt will be sending out the property tax assessments for 2025 in the coming days. The property tax reform necessitated a revaluation of all taxable properties and a recalculation of property tax.

    Due to the large amount of data to be recorded, it will not be possible for all owners to receive the notices at the same time. However, the result of the recalculation of property tax will in practically all cases be a change in the amount of property tax compared to the previous year. This must be taken into account when making transfers or setting up/changing standing orders.

    The new property tax assessment amounts were determined by the responsible tax offices. The property tax payable is calculated by multiplying the measured amount by the municipal assessment rate. In Wolmirstedt, the assessment rate for property tax A and B has not been changed. It remains at 350% for property tax A and 420% for property tax B.

    Overall, the tax revenue from property taxes should be revenue-neutral.

    However, this does not mean that the individual’s tax burden will remain the same. The new property tax assessment amounts will change the property taxes payable for some properties.

    The extent to which revenue neutrality has been achieved will be reviewed again in the current year. At the same time, a possible shift in the property tax rate for commercial properties is also being examined in order to make any necessary adjustments.

    As in the past, the property tax assessment notices are used to determine the street cleaning fee, the levy for the soil and water association and, if applicable, the tax on the property. the assessment of the dog tax.

    If no new notice has yet been issued, the payment obligations for these claims remain in force, insofar as the last notice for property taxes or a separate notice (dog tax only) indicates this.
