Replacement plantings at the St. Catherine cemetery

For many visitors to the Wolmirstedt cemetery, it is easy to see that the box elder has done a great job there. After pest infestations led to the death of the entire boxwood hedges at the urn community site, they have since been removed. As a replacement, it was decided to use more resistant yews, which are also planted in the form of hedges. Implementation is planned for the end of October/beginning of November 2021.

There are also damaged boxwoods in close proximity to graves that need to be removed and replaced. However, the effort here is higher because the plants are more difficult to remove due to their size and proximity to the graves, and the necessary measures must be discussed individually with each beneficiary of the grave site.
