The city of Wolmirstedt is offering an apprenticeship as a road maintenance worker (m/f/d) from 01.08.2024.
You will complete a 3-year dual training program in Wolmirstedt and at the vocational school in Schönebeck. You will also take part in inter-company training to supplement and deepen the knowledge you have acquired at the training center of the Beschäftigungs-, Qualifizierungs- und Innovationsgesellschaft mbH in Schönebeck (BQI). After successfully completing your training, YOU have a good chance of being taken on.
During your varied apprenticeship, you will cover a range of topics such as traffic and road regulations, maintenance of structures, concrete and asphalt roadways. At the Wolmirstedt municipal building yard, you will work in various areas such as planning and monitoring work processes, setting up, securing and clearing work sites, securing accident sites, preparing grit for winter road maintenance and applying it to the roads using existing winter maintenance equipment, carrying out construction and maintenance work on buildings and roads, creating and maintaining green spaces, installing and maintaining traffic signs and traffic facilities to gain practical experience.
What do YOU need to bring with you?
- Intermediate school leaving certificate or secondary school leaving certificate or equivalent
- preferably good to satisfactory grades in mathematics, physics and technology
- Completed internship as a road maintenance worker desirable
- manual dexterity, speed of reaction, technical and mathematical understanding
- Motivation, commitment, sense of responsibility, ability to work under pressure, ability to work in a team, independence, accuracy, diligence and social skills
- Health suitability for obtaining driving license category C, CE, C1E
- Communication skills
