    Announcement of the election day for the election of the full-time mayor of the unified municipality of Wolmirstedt

    On the basis of Section 6 (2) of the Local Elections Act for the State of Saxony-Anhalt (KWG LSA) in the version published on February 27, 2004 (GVBl. LSA p. 92), last amended by the Act of October 25, 2023 (GVBl. LSA p. 590), I hereby announce the date set by the City Council of the City of Wolmirstedt in its meeting on February 20, 2025 for the election of the full-time mayor in the unified municipality of Wolmirstedt for:

    Sunday, 07.09.2025

    and the date for a possible run-off election for:

    Sunday, 21.09.2025

    known.

    The election period for the election of the full-time mayor lasts from 08:00 to 18:00.

    In this context, I would like to point out the following in accordance with Section 38a of the Local Election Code for the State of Saxony-Anhalt (KWO LSA):

    Citizens from other member states of the European Union are eligible to vote and be elected in accordance with the requirements applicable to Germans. They are not eligible to vote if they are excluded from the right to vote under German law or the law of the state of which they are a national or if they have lost their eligibility or ability to hold public office as a result of a court ruling.

    If nationals from other Member States of the European Union apply for the mayoral election, they must submit an affidavit in accordance with Section 38a (2) KWO LSA with their application and the documents in accordance with Section 39 (1) and (2) KWO LSA in accordance with the template in Annex 8b (KWO LSA) that they are not excluded from the right to vote under the laws of the state of which they are a national or have lost their eligibility or ability to hold public office as a result of a judge’s decision.
