Public Participation

Announcement of the 2nd phase of the Federal Railway Authority’s public participation in noise action planning on federal railroads (4th round)

The territory of the town of Wolmistedt includes areas that are affected by traffic noise caused by one or more main federal railroad lines (HES). The HES includes rail routes with more than 30,000 train movements per year. The Federal Railway Authority (EBA) is responsible for both noise mapping of the entire main railway line network and the noise action planning for the entire federal territory based on this. As part of an initial public participation phase, citizens were invited to take part in an online survey on the local noise situation from 13.03.2023 to 24.04.2023. A total of around 11,000 people made use of this opportunity. On November 20, 2023, the EBA will publish a draft noise action plan for the federal rail network based on the evaluated survey results. From 20.11.2023 to 04.01.2024, the public will have the opportunity to provide EBA with feedback on the draft plan and the participation procedure. You have the opportunity to participate via the participation platform www.laermaktionsplanung-schiene.de, which was activated during the aforementioned period. You can view the draft noise action plan both on the participation platform and on the EBA website at www.eba.bund.de/lap. The interactive map service at https://geoportal.eisenbahn-bundesamt.de/ enables the location-based display of noise maps and tabular results data. The EBA can be contacted by e-mail(umgebungslaerm@eba.bund.de) or by post (Eisenbahn-Bundesamt, Heinemannstraße 6, 53175 Bonn) under the keyword “Umgebungslärm” for further questions on noise action planning on federal railroads in the 4th round.
