2. general information
In accordance with the circular issued by the Ministry of Education, all children who reach the age of 6 by June 30, 2024, are required to attend school from the beginning of the following school year and must be enrolled in the public elementary school responsible for them by March 1, 2023.
Children who will turn 5 by June 30, 2024, are eligible to enroll. Registration forms should be obtained from the appropriate public elementary school. Legal guardians whose children were deferred in the previous year can also request the registration documents from the relevant public elementary school.
If a child is to attend an elementary school that is located outside the designated catchment area of the public elementary school responsible for the child’s primary residence, the child’s legal guardians shall submit an application for an exception.
The application must be sent to the elementary school originally responsible according to the catchment area. The application can be obtained from the relevant elementary school.
The state education authority decides on applications for enrollment outside of the defined catchment area after a justified application has been submitted by the parents or guardians.

The elementary school “Johannes Gutenberg” will hold an open day on Friday, 20.01.2023 in the time from 14:30 to 17:00.
This date can also be used to register school-age children.
