Heike Pessel, an employee of the town council, has retired – after a proud 43 years at Wolmirstedt town hall.

An idyllic winter market will take place on Friday, February 6, 2026, and Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the Wolmirstedt castle domain in front of the museum barn.

The city of Wolmirstedt is once again looking for new trainees to become administrative assistants who would like to learn in the city administration for three years from August 1, 2026.

Even if lakes and ponds are completely covered in ice and appear to be stable, caution is advised: One wrong step can be life-threatening.

The Wolmirstedt housing association has received a special award for the refurbishment of the apartment block at Sams-weger Strasse 68 to 73. The Saxony-Anhalt State Energy Agency awarded the “Green House Number” for climate protection and energy efficiency.

Mike Steffen visited the “Johannes Gutenberg” primary and community school for an important discussion with Doreen Haensch (principal of the elementary school) and Judith Hubold (principal of the community school).

All children who reach the age of 6 by June 30, 2027 will be required to attend school at the start of the following school year 2027/2028. In accordance with a circular issued by the Ministry of Education, they must be registered at their local public elementary school by March 1, 2026.
